Things they say

Tess- bringing me a heavily spotted banana- "Ew! It's a mess, Mommy!"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me- Don't you love your sister?

Jack- Not really.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maria- Doesn't Grandmom have a computer?

Me- Grandmom doesn't even have an ATM card.

Maria- How does she get money?

Me- She goes into the bank.

Maria- You can do that?

Ha ha!! The ATM/bank conversation is great... it is amazing to think about things which are so different today due to technology and how that affects kids' perceptions on things... Caroline thinks that my computer can tell me anything (which is basically true, I guess) and that any problem can be solved by sending an email. For some reason it also reminds me of when my youngest brother was about five and we went through the McDonald's drive-thru, and when the person's voice came through the speaker, his eyes got big and he asked, "Mommy, how do they get *in* there???"

Mel, the ATM comments have me lol! I would bet that my kids think that the machines just give out money to whoever wants it! :-)

Yes, all my kids have thought that about ATM's. I'll say something like, "I don't have the money to do that right now," and they'll say, "Just go get some out of the machine!" If only it were that easy!
