waiting impatiently for breakfast one morning..."Am I among the poor?"

Me- "No dear. Why?'

Jack- "Because I have nothing to eat!"

Hello, welcome to my blog! I'm Melanie, homeschooling momma to 15yo Maria, 11yo Kain, 7yo Jack, 3yo Tess, and 1 yo Henry. And we are expecting a new baby in May!

We homeschool year round using Mother of Divine Grace, a classical Catholic curriculum, and supplement with lots of other fun stuff when time and sanity allows. Maria is in 9th grade, Kain is in 5th, Jack is in 1st, and Tess is doing Little Saints preschool. We juggle a variety of special needs in this house, and that is what led us to homeschooling to begin with. Maria is dyslexic. Kain is our nephew. He has rather severe ADHD, as well as a mix of learning delays and emotional/behavioral problems that we have been working on since he came to live with us five years ago. Jack was diagnosed with autism two years ago. These beautiful children constantly redefine my priorities on every level and I learn more from them than they will ever learn from me- humilty...patience...surrender to God's will...three things that have never been my strengths!
